New to inProcess Version 3.23

PMC Solutions is pleased to announce that inProcess v3.23 is now available. Version 3.23 continues with the 3 series theme of interface and usability improvements, and includes new features (and payoffs) such as:

inProcess® Heartbeat:
The system now has the ability to detect "dead" database connections and automatically log users off who have had their session unexpectedly terminated. This will greatly, if not completely, eliminate the need to use the "Unlock Accounts" feature in the inACT tool which should greatly reduce administrative overhead.

Edit Published Process Properties:
The system now allows the changing of the process title, description, owner, templates, and keywords for published processes. The ability to use this feature is controlled in the Manage Security window, so organizations have a choice whether to enable this feature and which users have the ability to use it. This will eliminate the need to copy processes as new processes solely to edit these properties.

Enhanced Security Account and Password Control:
inProcess® has added enhanced features on account security. These added controls make the system Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 199 certified for a Low security classification watermark for organizations needing to comply with Federal security regulations.

Web Resource Links Enhanced:
In prior versions, some web resources could not be verified and therefore the link could not be saved. The system will still warn the user that the link could not be verified, but it will now allow a save.

FIXES

Attachment/Reference Descriptions:
inProcess® web site documents incorrectly displayed the same attachment/reference descriptions under the titles. These descriptions are now fixed.

Multiple Attachments/References/Processes links:
When multiple links to the same attachment/reference/process in the same process were created, the associated document section listed these links multiple times. The system now displays only one.

Process Description Update:
In the procedures section of a process document, it was identified that the title/description of a linked process step (terminator/connector shape) was not being updated if the linked process' title or description was modified. This has been corrected.

Features and Functions

1. Centralization of Information
Information is stored online, in a single, central location, easily accessed through a URL.

2. Enhanced, Interactive Process Maps
inProcess uses Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) to produce interactive process maps that allow you to attach forms, work instructions, links to Web sites, images, and e-mail.
The payoff: Documents are only a click away. And because they’re in electronic format, they can be easily updated or deleted as needed.
3. Automatic Graphic-to-Text Function
Create both graphic and text documents in one easy step. You only have to enter information once; the software automatically captures the text—and your changes—in both places.
The payoff: No duplication of effort trying to create both graphic and text documents.

4. Audit Reports
Create graphs and charts on-line that detail: the total number of unique users accessing the process map daily the number of processes that are being viewed by a user for any given time period - a list of processes that are being viewed by a user the amount of time to complete.
The payoff: Viewer accountability and system effectiveness is now possible with real time customized reports detailing process website activity.

5. Real-Time Updates
Everyone in the organization can view changes immediately—and electronically via the Internet—whether you're in the same building or thousands of miles away.
The payoff: Exceptional knowledge sharing and no information lag. Everyone in the organization has the same information at the same time.

6. Change Management
inProcess inherently tracks all the revisions and approvals made to each process.
The payoff: An invaluable change control tool for audits.

7. Customization
inProcess can be customized to fit your unique needs, such as providing customized resource tabs to store company information like acronyms, job descriptions, SOPs, and URLs/links.
