Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate (DHS S&T) is the primary research and development arm of DHS. The mission for DHS S&T is to improve homeland security by providing their customers state-of-the-art technology that facilitates the achievement of their missions.
DHS S&T’s focus is in the areas of human capital services, information technology services, operations logistical support, physical security baseline and protection of critical information, to ensure official DHS S&T correspondence is both proper and correct. PMC Solutions, Inc. (PMCS) was contracted by DHS S&T to support the DHS S&T Operations Division in this effort. PMCS Business Process Analysts provides the following services:
- Develop the Standardized Policies and Procedures (SP2) system using PMCS inProcess™ software
- Document existing operating practices into business processes (both text and maps)
- Capture existing policies and procedures in an interactive automated central location
- Identify opportunities to enhance performance, productivity, and cost effectiveness
- Ensure consistency across the DHS S&T Operations Division for best business practices using business process management methodology
The primary goal of the DHS S&T Operations Division is to ensure that the business management policies and procedures are simple, straightforward, and in the final analysis create an environment of continual improvement throughout the operation. By using PMCS Business Process Management toolinProcess™, DHS S&T will stay in the forefront of their Continuous Process Improvement initiative.
